On the Path to Energy Efficiency in Ukraine: Challenges, Reforms, Accomplishments

This report highlights the accomplishments of the USAID Municipal Energy Reform Project in Ukraine. The project launched in 2013 and provided support to the Government of Ukraine to improve the legal framework for implementation of reforms in the municipal energy sector.

The project supported the development of Ukraine’s Low Emission Development Strategy through 2050 along with an action plan for its implementation. It also helped develop a State Climate Policy Concept, an energy section for Ukraine’s Intended Nationally Determined Contribution for the Paris Agreement, a National Energy Strategy Plan through 2035, a National Action Plan on Renewable Energy through 2020, and a National Action Plan on Energy Efficiency through 2020.
